Parc des Terres Noires 2 [Portes du Vermandois]

Commissioned in October 2017 alongside its sister installation, Terres Noires 2 operates 9.51 MW of Senvion capacity in Portes du Vermandois. This Virya Energy (ex-Eurowatt) project demonstrates the advantages of simultaneous dual-site development, with shared infrastructure and coordinated grid connections that optimize capital efficiency. The twin installations create a substantial renewable energy hub in the Vermandois area, doubling the clean electricity contribution to the regional grid. Senvion’s medium-wind turbines were ideally matched to the site’s wind profile, ensuring high availability and consistent energy output. Virya Energy’s integrated approach to developing both Terres Noires sites strengthened relationships with local authorities and communities, establishing trust that has facilitated additional renewable energy initiatives in the region.
