Parc d'Omissy 1

The Omissy 1 wind farm, operational since November 2014, operates 12 MW of Gamesa turbine capacity in a location characterized by favorable and consistent wind conditions. Developed by Virya Energy (ex-Eurowatt), this installation represents a significant contribution to regional renewable energy capacity, leveraging the area’s natural wind resources to generate clean electricity for thousands of households. The Gamesa turbines were selected for their robust design and proven performance in similar climatic conditions across France. Virya Energy’s comprehensive community consultation process during project development resulted in strong local acceptance and established lasting partnerships with municipal authorities, creating mutual benefits through land rental agreements and local tax contributions.
