Our History

Though formally established in 2019, Virya Energy’s roots stretch back to 1990 with Colruyt Group’s Green Line Charter marking an early commitment to sustainability.
Our heritage companies pioneered renewable energy across Europe, achieving significant milestones including the development of Belwind, one of Belgium’s first offshore wind farms in 2009, and our first hydrogen filling station in 2018.
