Parc de la Croix Noire 2 [Grand-Rullecourt Ouest 2]

Complementing its neighboring installation, Croix Noire 2 commenced operations in April 2017 with 12.3 MW of Senvion turbines, creating a combined wind energy hub in Grand-Rullecourt Sud. The phased development approach allowed Virya Energy (ex-Eurowatt) to incorporate lessons learned from the first installation while maintaining strong community relationships built during the initial project. This site’s wind characteristics are particularly favorable, with minimal wake effects between turbine rows thanks to careful micrositing analysis. The dual-park configuration provides economies of scale in operations and maintenance while doubling the renewable energy contribution to the regional grid, powering thousands of local homes with clean electricity.
