Ollignies

The Ollignies wind project represents a progressive development in Belgium, with installations completed across multiple phases between 2016 and 2022. The complete project now consists of 6 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 16.75 MW, demonstrating Virya Energy’s commitment to sustainable energy development through its subsidiary Eoly Energy.

The initial phase began in 2016 with one turbine, followed by a northern extension of 3 turbines and a southern extension of 2 turbines in 2022. One of the southern turbines is now jointly owned with a local cooperative, reflecting our commitment to community involvement in renewable energy projects. Together, these turbines generate approximately 34,442 MWh annually, providing clean electricity equivalent to the consumption of about 9,436 households and avoiding over 15,705 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
