Terneuzen
Through the DHYVE development platform, Virya Energy is partnering in an innovative green hydrogen facility in Terneuzen. The project, located strategically at the Belgian-Dutch border within North Sea Port, will initially produce 2,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually from a 25 MW electrolyzer, with potential to scale up to 125 MW. With permits secured and SDE++ subsidy granted in early 2023, the facility is set to begin operations in 2026. The site’s prime location offers excellent multimodal connectivity and proximity to industrial users, supporting both cross-border cooperation and local partnerships for hydrogen, heat, and oxygen utilization. This development aligns with North Sea Port’s vision to establish the Axelse Vlakte as an advanced biofuels cluster.
