Ciney-Sovet
Along the E411 in Sovet, in the municipality of Ciney (province of Namur), Virya Energy is developing a wind farm of three turbines, each up to 5 MW, with a rotor diameter of up to 136 metres and a tip height of up to 180 metres. Placing the turbines along the motorway concentrates them in an already-developed corridor rather than in open countryside. The project has been many years in the making: first initiated in 2016, it went through a long permitting process before the Walloon Government granted a permit for all three turbines in October 2025, without the height restriction of an earlier version. With engineering and contracting as the next steps, the wind farm is targeted to start operating by 2029, adding up to 15 MW of renewable capacity to the region.
