Virya Energy further sharpens its focus: DATS 24 transfers energy supply to EnergyVision

Halle, July 30 – Virya Energy is transferring the retail electricity and gas supply activity of its subsidiary DATS 24 to EnergyVision, a carefully selected, specialised Belgian energy supplier. This concerns supply to the residential market representing approximately 33,000 access points (EANs) representing approximately 18,000 clients. Fuel and EV charging remain fully with DATS 24.
With this step, Virya Energy concentrates on the activities where the group creates the most value: investing in assets for renewable energy generation, green hydrogen, renewable energy solutions for business customers, EV charging and DATS 24’s mobility services. Retail electricity and gas supply is a limited activity within the portfolio; by transferring it to a specialist, the product can continue to grow while DATS 24 fully commits to the mobility of tomorrow and clearly opts for a growth path towards an extensive network of charging points.
EnergyVision is a 100% Belgian, listed energy company (Euronext Brussels), market leader in solar panels and the fastest-growing green energy supplier in the country. It supplies 100% green electricity as standard, largely from its own Belgian generation, with supply to end-customers as its core business.
For the customers concerned, the continuity of their supply does not change. Their contract, tariff and conditions are taken over one-to-one; customers need to do nothing and retain their legal right to free choice of supplier. They are informed directly, transparently and in good time, by both DATS 24 and EnergyVision.
Paul Tummers, CEO Virya Energy:
“This is a deliberate, forward-looking choice, not a step backwards. We are focusing our energy where Virya makes a difference: investing in assets for the generation of renewable energy, green hydrogen, electric charging and DATS 24’s mobility services. Continuity remains guaranteed for our energy customers. We guarantee this: they will be carefully guided towards a strong, specialised supplier, whilst retaining all their existing terms and tariffs.”
Jean-Jacques Delmée, CEO DATS 24:
“Our customers have consciously chosen DATS 24 over the past years, and that trust is not something we hand over lightly. In EnergyVision we chose a partner that shares our values: Belgian, green and customer-first. Our customers know they are in good hands, while we fully build the mobility of tomorrow: fuel and electric.”
Maarten Michielssens, CEO EnergyVision:
“We warmly welcome the approximately 33,000 connection points (around 18,000 customers) of DATS 24. Their supply will continue without interruption and their existing conditions will remain unchanged. And at least as importantly: they are joining a supplier that treats its customers the way you treat your best friends: honestly, easy to reach and without hassle. With 100% green electricity and low prices, we are making the sustainable energy transition accessible to everyone.”
Meanwhile, the Belgian energy market is evolving rapidly. New regulations, the roll-out of smart meters and the emergence of dynamic tariff models are making the energy supply business increasingly complex: providing the best possible service to customers today requires specialised systems, scale and operational efficiency. Against this backdrop, a clear shift towards focus and specialisation is emerging in the market: energy supply is being concentrated among players for whom it is the core business, whilst other companies are focusing on what they do best. This transfer is part of that shift. DATS 24 customers will have a supplier that is entirely built around energy supply, with the scale and systems that tomorrow’s market demands.
The proposed transfer is subject to customary conditions precedent.

About EnergyVision
EnergyVision (ENRGY, Euronext Brussels) is a fast-growing, integrated energy and mobility company, founded in 2014 and active in Belgium. The company makes the energy transition more accessible and faster by offering solar, wind and hydropower, as well as charging infrastructure, for which customers and businesses do not need to make any investment. At the same time, EnergyVision acts as an energy supplier and links the production of its own solar panels and wind turbines to the consumption of its customers, who benefit from a reduced energy bill, while the remaining electricity generated is supplied by EnergyVision to other energy customers and its own charging points. In this way, sustainable energy becomes widely available and the electricity grid remains stable and reliable. Through this integrated approach, combined with smart, flexible and datadriven management of its own installations and the network, EnergyVision achieves stable growth, technological innovation and a positive impact on the climate, always with the customer and the energy transition as the starting point.
