Ollignies
The Ollignies wind cluster in Lessines (Hainaut) grew in three steps around Colruyt Group’s distribution centre. It began in 2016, when Eoly Energy (now Virya Energy) commissioned a single 2 MW Vestas V100 turbine. In 2022, the site expanded on two fronts. Virya Energy added three Vestas V117 turbines totalling 10.35 MW, the largest phase of the cluster. Alongside them, the Ollignies South project brought two Vestas V100 turbines with a combined 4.4 MW, developed in partnership with two citizen cooperatives, Eoly COOP and CLEF, giving local residents a direct stake in the energy produced on their doorstep. Today, the six turbines together represent 16.75 MW of installed capacity.
